PSHE & Citizenship at Wrenn Academy

Course content

At Wrenn School we believe that Personal Social and Health Education is one of the most important subjects you can study, offering you the opportunity to develop some of the qualities and skills needed in later life. These are skills which are not always taught in a direct or challenging way in other subject areas. Over the next two years you will have the opportunity to consider some interesting and controversial issues. Without the pressure of an examination at the end of this course, you should find it an enjoyable and challenging experience. PSHE also covers some aspects of the Citizenship curriculum. Topics such as Rights and Responsibilities, Drugs Education, Sex Education, Identities, Road Safety, Smoking, Alcohol and Careers are covered. You will also be given specific help with revision skills and how to prepare for exams. With Work Experience to look forward to early in Year 11, we will be spending some time examining your choices and helping you to prepare for your two weeks of employment experience.
