Bench or Site Carpentry Level 2 Diploma at Buxton & Leek College

Course description

Tgis is an ideal way to ensure you have the most up tp date skills in your field. By obtaining this qualification you can also progress onto Level 3 Diploma in Bench or Site Carpentry or if during the course you obtain a work position, you can transfer to an apprenticeship. 

Course content

Course Content: Bench

  • Conforming to general health safety and welfare in the workplace
  • Conforming to productive working practices in the workplace
  • Moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace
  • Manufacturing routine bench joinery products in the workplace
  • Mark out from setting out details for routine joinery product
  • Set up and operate a circular saw
  • Set out routine joinery products
Course Content: Site
  • Conforming to general health safety and welfare in the workplace
  • Conforming to productive working practices in the workplace
  • Moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace
  • Installing first fix components in the workplace
  • Installing second fix components in the workplace
  • Erecting structural carcassing components in the workplace
  • Maintenance

 

Entry requirements

4-5 GCSEs including Maths and English or equivalent. Alternatively learnrs would be required to complete Functional Skills in Maths & English. 

Assessment

Continual via practical workplace, assessments, theory assignments and end tests
