Course description

Description: This unique course is spread across a wide range of Creative & Media disciplines and you will be working with specialist practitioners in each of these areas. The unique nature of the course brings with it a whole new range of experiences, responsibilities and resources, as well as the need to interact with a cross section of people from all walks of life. You will be expected to work alongside professional practitioners from Industry, interact within the workplace and workplace environment, take responsibility for your learning, timekeeping, appearance, behaviour and all of the things that are expected from young adults moving into employment. As there are many disciplines covered in this Diploma, you will be given some choices about specialising in certain areas. You will undertake a course of study in Media and will be expected to reach a degree of skill in radio, television, film and audio work. You will also study art, drama, dance, animation, creative writing, textiles, graphic and product design and imaging. The main units of the principal learning element of the diploma cover: - exploring creativity - creating inspiration - creating possibilities - discovering creative potential - developing a creative response - creative teamwork - promotion and review Elements of the course will be taught in different institutions across the SHAPE network, and therefore you will be involved in travelling between different schools and colleges.
