Introduction to the Creative Industries (Level 1) at Central College Nottingham

Course description

This course is run at the Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies.

If you have an interest and desire to work in the Creative Industries, then this is the course for you. If you struggled at school or didn’t get the grades you wanted, then this course could be a second chance for you to achieve great things.

Course content

With the perfect mix of practical and academic projects, you will gain knowledge and experience in the following areas:

  • Recording studio skills
  • Gaming
  • TV & Film
  • DJ Skills
  • Graphic Design

Alongside these you’ll also study:

  • Maths
  • English
  • Personal, Social Development

English and Maths are an essential part of your studies and will help you succeed on your course. These subjects will help you develop confidence and are the key employability skills that all employers now look for when recruiting.

Entry requirements

One of the following:

  • 4 GCSEs at grades D-G including English Language and Maths
  • A relevant Entry 3 qualification, plus you will need to complete an English and Maths assessment to determine the right course and support for you.

Adults who are aged 19+ without the necessary qualifications are welcome to apply.


There is continual assessment and a short test completed under exam conditions.

Future opportunities

If you are successful on the Level 1 course, you will be able to study on one of our Level 2
