Bricklaying Diploma Level 2 at The CDC

Course description

The level 2 Diploma is the next step in your learning journey to further your skills and knowledge and support your progression within the industry of Bricklaying.

The L2 Diploma in Bricklaying has been developed for delivery in a training environment and has been designed to:

Develop the skills, knowledge and understanding of learners, enabling them to work in the industry in their chosen craft.

Prepare learners to further develop their skills, knowledge and understanding to enable them take further advanced-level qualifications in their chosen craft.

Course content

In addition to the skills you gained at Level 1, you will also gain experience in:

Construct masonry cladding

Construct cavity walling forming masonry structures

Construct solid walling incorporating isolated and attached piers

Construct thin joint masonry 

Health, safety and welfare in construction and associated industries

Set out masonry structures

Understanding construction technology

Understanding information, quantities and communication with others

Entry requirements

No formal entry requirements

Skills review

Assessment

  • Ongoining practical testings (throughout the course)
  • Online end of unit tests (externally set)

Financial information

16-18 year olds are fully funded Not all students after 18 may need to pay fees, depending on your circumstances.

Future opportunities

This L2 Diploma in Bricklaying will enable and/or prepare the learner to progress in their chosen trade and on completion of this qualification, learners may progress: 

Into employment or to undertake further training in one of the following Cskills Awards qualifications:

L3 Diploma in Bricklaying.

To undertake a Level 2 NVQ Diploma

To enrol on an employer led supervisory programme, incorporating NVQ’s at Level 3 and above.
