  • making engineering components using hand tools
  • using a bench/pedestal drilling machine
  • planning and making a machined product
  • assembling mechanical components
  • joining materials using welding
  • electronic assembly and wiring
  • electrical circuits and components
  • starting work in engineering
  • financial management
  • maths and English


  • GCSEs at grade two in maths and English, or
  • GCSEs at grade E in maths and English
  • successful attendance at interview event and satisfactory references
