Music (Performing) BTEC level 3 Subsidiary Diploma at Trinity High School and Sixth Form Centre
Music at Trinity provides students with many opportunities to perform, compose and listen to music through lessons, extra-curricular clubs and the excellent facilities that we have available. We encourage students to perform when and wherever they can in an environment where they feel supported. The curriculum, courses and clubs available are provided and tailored to the students’ needs and in every aspect are designed to encourage students to develop confidence and creativity.
Music has a newly refurbished teaching room, a suite of practice rooms and a state of the art Recording Studio.
Year 12 (Certificate)
- Music Performance Techniques
- Music Performance Session Styles
- Aural Perception Skills
Year 13 (Subsidiary Diploma)
- Improvising Music
- Music Project
- Solo Music Performance
GCSE music grade B or above or Btec Level 2 in Music merit or above.
Students are also required to be grade 4 standard or above on their chosen instrument or voice.
It is helpful if students also have a basic knowledge of music theory or can read music.
Trinity music department pride themselves on opportunities for students to perform in and out of school. We have a Christmas Concert every year which is open for all students to audition. Every other year the Performing Arts come together for a house performing arts championship or the school production. Our most recent shows have been We Will Rock You and Bugsy Malone.
Trinity Singers regularly perform outside of school at events such as the Worcestershire County Voices and Visions Festival and The Staff Appreciation Day at Redditch Alexandra Hospital.
