A Level: Mathematics at Wreake Valley Sixth Form
In AS you will be studying three modules:-
Two in Pure Maths and include work on Co-ordinate Geometry, Algebra, Calculus, Trigonometry and Exponential Functions. The third module is in Statistics.
In A2 you will be again studying three modules:-
Two in Pure Maths extending your work from AS Level. The third module is in Mechanics.

- Forces and Newton's laws
- Statistical sampling
- Data presentation and Interpretation
- Statistical distributions
- Statistical hypothesis testing
To join the Sixth Form there is an entry requirement of 5 good passes at GCSE (at least a C or a grade 4). This must include English and / or Maths at a grade 4.
There are additional entry criteria for Literature, Maths, and Science subjects.
Maths requires at least a grade 5 from the Higher tier paper.
Three x 2 hour papers sat at the end of Year 13.
Paper 1 Pure Mathematics.
Paper 2 Pure and Mechanics.
Paper 3 Pure and Statistics.
There is no coursework in this A Level.
Free to home students.
Students then continue to an enormous variety of university courses including Accountancy, Law, Engineering, Architecture, Mathematics, Medicine and all the Sciences, although some choose to go directly into work.
