Early Years Education Level 3 at The College of Richard Collyer

Course description

Students who achieve this qualification can enter the workforce as Early Years Educators (EYE) or access Higher Education. The course covers a number of core subject areas and will suit many career aims including Early Years Education, Primary Education, Social Work, Special Needs and Nursing and related subjects. You will learn how to promote the learning and development and care of children and young people within the age range 0- 7yrs. It will give you a secure foundation of knowledge and practical skills to work with young children.

This course has a very practical application and leads you towards a qualification that meets the Full & Relevant Criteria for this vocational sector. Direct entry to employment upon achievement may be in a variety of settings including Day Nurseries and Children’s Centres, Pre-schools, Private Homes, Schools, After-School clubs and Holiday Play & Activity schemes. It is also a route into Higher Education, and carries upto 420 UCAS points (equivalent to 3 x A2 at A*)

This is a 2 year course.

Entry requirements

Average GCSEs of C grade with a GCSE C English Language & Maths. Satisfactory references and a completed DBS certificate.

A commitment & practical ability to work with children & young people. (Practical ability will be assessed prior to enrolment)

The willingness and ability to undertake practical training days in a range of Early Years settings in Horsham & the surrounding area. This may incur travel costs.
