Hospitality Pathway at Holgate Academy

Course description

This qualification is ideal for those aspiring to work in the Hospitality and Catering industry, in roles such as: chef, kitchen assistant, housekeeper or front of house or hotel receptionist.

It provides the skills required to succeed in the workplace and develop the ability to learn and progress whilst building a successful career.

Course content

The course will teach students to complete complex food preparation activities, front of house service, marketing, finance and management.
The course will be assessed through a mixture of internal assessment of practical work and examination

Entry requirements

Students require a sound basis in a vocational or practical KS4 subject. Ideally students will have studied GCSE Food Technology and achieved a A*-C grade.

However, students with a background in practical based subjects will be considered.

Further information

Weekly drop in sessions will be available to students where they can practice and improve their skills which they can then apply in formal assessment lessons.
