L3 BTEC Child Development at Bradford Academy

Course description

This is a new course available for students who wish to gain a career working with children and is the equivalent to 1 A-Level qualification.

Course content

The course is split into 5 seperate units which cover a variety of topics such as 'Child Development', 'Play in Early Years' and 'Safe Practices'.

There will also be a work experience element of 50 hours.

Entry requirements

5 GCSE's A*-C including grade C in both English Language and Mathematics.


Majority of the course will be completed with coursework however there will be an exam at the end of each year.

Future opportunities

You can progress onto further and higher education to work with children in health, social care and early years settings. This can include: gaining a degree in Nursery Nursing, Child Nursing, Social Work or Child Psychology.
