Further Maths - A Level (Aqa) at The Cotswold Academy

Course description

About the syllabus:

The A Level Further Mathematics course is designed to broaden and deepen mathematical knowledge and the skills developed while studying A Level Mathematics.

Further Mathematics is studied alongside A Level Mathematics and provides a challenging, stimulating experience for those who enjoy the subject.

The course involves six supervised lessons each week, usually taken by two teachers and encourages an independent work ethic to the highest degree for a successful outcome. Full teacher support is always on hand and is accessible to all our mathematicians on a daily basis.

Topics such as matrices and complex numbers are introduced for the first time, while others, such as algebra, calculus and trigonometry are studied in greater depth.

Students planning for a degree in Mathematics should take this course, but also students planning for degrees in areas such as Physics, Engineering or Economics will benefit from taking AS or A Level Further Mathematics to enhance their understanding and enrich their course content.
