Sport BTEC Level 3 Sub Diploma/Diploma at Coopers School

Course description

This is a two year vocational course and it is suitable for those who have decided that they wish to enter the sports industry as a career.

The course focus on a range of topics relevant to sport and sports coaching including topics such as: Principles of Anatomy and Physiology in Sport, Assessing Risk in Sport, Sports Coaching and Fitness Testing for Sport and Exercise.

 

Course content

The course is focussed on real world scenarios and includes practical (approx 35% of the timetabled lesson) and theoretical (approx 65% of the timetabled lesson) based units to ensure that students meet the criteria set out in the specification.

Entry requirements

GCSE English Language C or better
GCSE PE C or better

Assessment

This course does not require you to sit an exam you. You will be internally assessed each unit within the qualification has specified assessment and grading criteria which are to be used for grading purposes.

A summative unit grade will be awarded at pass, merit or distinction.

The syllabus provides an excellent foundation for students intending to pursue careers in Teaching, Coaching, the Leisure Industry, Recreational Management, the Health & Fitness Industry and Professional Sport.
