Health and Social Care Traineeship (Traineeship Level 2) at Blackburn College

Course description

The course is aimed at people looking for a career in social care to introduce knowledge relating to working in health and social care with progression opportunities onto a Level 2 then Level 3 Apprenticeship, which could lead to a career in management.

Entry requirements

You will need a GCSE profile of a preferable grade D in English. You will also be required to undertake Maths and English initial assessment. You will also need a satisfactory police check (DBS).

Assessment

You will be assessed through written assignment tasks and practical work experience. You will also gain certificates in First Aid and Moving and Handling, which will significantly enhance your prospects of employment.

You can gain employment as a paid apprentice in a health and social care setting. This could be in a variety of settings including:

  • Residential care homes
  • Home care services
  • Support and advocacy services
  • Working with learning facilities
  • Mental health services
  • Domiciliary services
