Sociology A Level at The Academy of St Francis of Assisi

Course description

Sociology is the study of different societies and cultures
and how people interact in these societies and cultures.
Sociology aims to explain the problems that exist in society
such as crime, discrimination, family breakdown and low
school achievement.

Entry requirements

You need to have GCSE English and Maths at grade C and above. There is a lot
of written work in Sociology, students are expected to write essays under timed
conditions which means that you need to be effective in your use of sentences
and paragraphs as well as applying good spelling and grammar. Some elements
of maths are also involved as you will be interpreting graphs and other forms of
statistical information.
