Course description

Course Content:

In Year 12, students must study 2 compulsory units and one optional choice of Unit as specified by the examinations board. All units are internally assessed coursework.

Unit One Communication and Employability Skills for IT
The aim of this unit is to ensure that learners understand both the personal attributes valued by employers in the IT industry and the principles of communicating effectively.

Unit Two Computer Systems
This Unit enables learners to understand the components of computer systems and develop the skills needed to recommend appropriate systems for business purposes and set up and maintain computer systems

Unit Three Optional Unit
To be chosen collectively from a range of topics including, for example: Information systems, Website Production and Human Computer Interaction.

Entry requirements

BTEC Pass/GCSE grade C or above in ICT.

OR

5 GCSEs Grade C or above including Maths, English Language and Science
