Extended Diploma in Applied Science Level 3 at West Kent College

Course description

Explore a broad, balanced range of topics in all three sciences.

You will learn about the principles and practicalities of working in a scientific setting and the practical applications of biology, physics, chemistry and maths. This includes:

- Principles and applications of science
- Practical scientific procedures and techniques
- Science investigation skills
- Laboratory techniques and their applications
- A variety of additional subject specific units in Biology, Chemistry or Physics

Assessment is continuous with coursework involving research, practical and assignment work. Four units are assessed by external examination.

Work experience is an integral part of the course and a placement should be arranged with guidance from your tutor.

Entry requirements

You will need five GCSEs at Grades A*-C/9-4, including English and maths. Applicants should hold a Level 2 qualification in science, e.g. GCSE science, or Level 2 First Diploma in science.
