Travel and Tourism with ESOL Level 1 at Peterborough Regional College

Course description

The course will provide you with an industry recognised qualification in travel. You will gain an understanding of the industry and the types of companies within it, along with the type of jobs available. One day of your course, you will be developing and improving your language skills with specialist support.

Course content

Throughout the course year you will be taken to a variety of places around the local area and further afield. You will be advised in advance of each trip and if any cost to you is applicable. This level 1 course is made up of different units, which are a mixture of online assessments and assignments. The course will cover a range of topics within the travel and tourism industry and has lots of practical activities to complete. Modules will include: • Travel geography • Retail travel services • Planning trips • Jobs in travel and tourism

Entry requirements

Alongside your travel and tourism course you will have ESOL lessons to develop your language skills.

Future opportunities

The aims of the course are to help you gain improved skills and increased chances of employment within travel and tourism, and give you the skills needed within the travel and tourism industry. You can progress onto Travel and Tourism Level 2 if you achieve Merits and Distinctions in your coursework units and achieve all components of your study programme.
