Legal Advice - Advanced Apprenticeship at Damar Training
Developed in partnership with the not-for-profit legal advice sector (including AdviceUK and Citizens Advice) the Intermediate and Advanced Apprenticeships in Legal Advice are ideal for anyone whose job is to provide independent legal information, advice and representation to members of the public.
At advanced level, apprentices will be training to work as caseworkers/legal advisers, managing client interviews and providing legal information and advice. The perfect progression route for graduates of the intermediate programme who are now becoming advisers or those in legal advice roles without a recognised legal advice qualification.
The programme comprises:
Skills for Justice Awards Level 3 Certificate in Providing Initial Legal Information and Advice. As with the intermediate programme, knowledge and competence units are assessed by way of assignments and an electronic portfolio of evidence. Again, there is a choice of units so that the qualification can be matched to each individual role, although all apprentices will take a number of compulsory units on providing legal advice to clients. Optional units cover areas such as managing legal advice cases, contributing to the prevention and management of inappropriate behaviour and legal units on areas including money and debt, welfare rights and housing law.
Functional skills in English, maths and ICT. Unlike academic exams, these are designed to ensure that students have the skills in maths, English and ICT that they need at work.
