A 1 or 2 year course, examined end of Year 12 AS and Year 13 A2.

Course content

A2 topics:

  • Region of France and a novel or a film
  • Environment
  • The Multicultural Society
  • Contemporary Social Issues

Entry requirements

You should have obtained at least a ‘B’ Grade at GCSE.

Future opportunities

Through studying a range of topics related to contemporary life, you will learn to communicate confidently, clearly and effectively in the language, and will improve and extend your knowledge of the language, including grammar. You will also develop awareness and understanding of the society, cultural background and heritage of other countries. This could lead to a traditional language degree course at university or a combined course with many subjects from Accountancy to Tourism. Many of these courses include a year spent studying abroad.
