Engineering SEMTA Advanced Apprenticeship FR01480 at Hull College Group
Hull College offers Advanced Apprenticeships tailor-made to suit your individual needs to succeed in employment.
Hull College provides candidates with the skill set required to gain skilled status in engineering pathways including maintenance, mechanical fitting, machining and technical support (workshop and office based).
All Advanced Apprentices in Engineering are required to successfully complete three types of qualification:
1) Competence based
2) Knowledge based
3) Transferrable skills.
The knowledge qualification is selected to allow apprentices to develop higher levels of understanding about the world of engineering; typically this qualification is the Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma or Diploma in Engineering.
The transferrable skills qualifications require learners to demonstrate competence in English, Mathematics and ICT which can be demonstrated through Functional/Key Skills or GCSE qualifications.
- Typically 4 GCSEs A* - C to include Maths, English and Science, a First Diploma in Engineering and an Apprenticeship in Engineering.
- Learners must be employed within an engineering company willing to sponsor them through their Apprenticeship.
The Level 3 NVQ Extended Diploma competence qualification is assessed in the workplace with a range of units that match the apprentice’s job role.
On successful completion of the Advanced Apprenticeship, candidates have the opportunity to progress onto HNC/Foundation Degree, leading to the possibility of further study for BEng.
