RE - Core at Wrenn Academy

Course content

All pupils at Key Stage four will follow a short course in Religious Studies leading to the equivalent of half a GCSE. In our rapidly changing world, two skills continue to be essential for successful, intelligent people. 1. The ability to understand other people; and 2. The ability to think for yourself. This short course in Religious Education complements your other studies, by encouraging you to think carefully about some important questions of life and belief. What are your views on the existence of God, the Bible, Miracles, Marriage, Divorce and Sex? Or about Human Rights and Racism? What do you think about War and Peace, Crime and Punishment? What are the forces of Good and Evil? You will be able to widen your thinking by looking at the views of others and to strengthen the independence of your thinking by considering the issues carefully for yourself. Pupils do enjoy the opportunity to explore controversial topics which promote discussion and allow individuals to express their opinions.
