Thinking of a career in the electrical installation industry? Qualified electricians can choose from a range of specific occupations, from working on major construction projects to domestic work in people’s home.
Demand for the professional expertise of all electricians is growing, with many qualified professionals setting up their own businesses.
This course covers the essentials of electrical installation – the sort of work done in domestic properties. You’ll be studying in our specialist workshops at Kings Langley campus, learning from tutors with years of professional experience.
The focus is on practical projects to develop essential skills. Complementing this is theory work in the classroom, with tutors on hand from day one to support you.
Course subjects include:
Practical electrical installations
Health and safety
Basic electrical testing and maintenance
Practical assessments and multiple choice exams will test your electrical knowledge. We also focus on wider skills, so you can look forward to completing a GAP work placement and to developing your English and maths.
2 GCSEs (E–G) including maths and science, Entry Level 3 qualification. You will be invited to a course introduction meeting which will include a range of relevant assessments.
Successful students can progress to the Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installation.
