Course description

A flexible, accredited learning programme designed to give learners the practical skills, and under-pinning knowledge required in the workplace. The course is work based which means you can earn and learn at the same time whilst developing the skills, understanding and knowledge that many employers in the food and drink sectors are looking for. This qualification is made up of a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) at level 2, Technical Certificate, ERR and Functional Skills Maths Level 1 and English Level 1, if applicable.

Assessment

Each of the units is made up from specific elemants applicable to a Beverage Service role, for example preparing and serving drink,dealing with payments and maintaining a clean and safe environment.Assessment takes place through evaluation of workplace performance, presenting evidence, witness tetimony and questioning etc.A portfolio of evidence is produced which demonstrates that the candidate perform to the level described. Participants will have a dedicated assessor who will help assemble the portfolio  and prepare them for assessment.

Future opportunities

The course offers you a specialist work-based qualification to support a career in the food and drink service, or to progress onto further education in Hospitality. With further training, which may include a management trainee scheme, you could continue to develop your career in the food and drink service by working within a Hotel, Restaurant or Catering Company.
