French at Meden School
Studying French will open up your future to possible careers around the world in countries as far apart as Canada and Benin. You will still be working on the four language skills of listening, reading, speaking and writing but the subject matter that you cover will be more abstract, dealing with present day problems and issues seen in relation to the foreign country. Areas you may study in Year 12 include family relationships, the media, culture, leisure and tourism and education and so you will need to take a general interest in current affairs and be willing to develop and argue a point of view.
A GCSE grade B or above is preferred.
