Business - Level 2 First Extended Certificate at Blackpool and The Fylde College
This one-year programme is full-time, Monday to Friday (16 to 18 hours per week).
The Level 2 Edexcel Extended Certificate in Business is a practical business-related course and provides both a broad foundation of business education and a firm basis for specialism in a selected avenue of business.
The course is made up of 12 units - two core units, plus one mandatory unit and 9 specialist units. The specialist units enable learners to study particular areas in depth and there is opportunity to follow a clear specialist pathway. The aim of the course is to develop a range of skills, working practices and thought processes. Your development as a student is integral to your studies and you will use a range of learning methods, including practical assignments, discussion, written work and presentations.

The majority of units are internally set. An overall grade for the qualification is awarded to all learners who successfully complete all units. Grades awarded are Pass, Merit and Distinction.
Two of the units, Finance for Business and Principles of marketing are externally assessed through an online test and a paper based test.
Internal assessment is made up of a variety of methods:

The level 2 Business course allows you to progress in a variety of ways. After the course the majority of students progress onto the level 3 Extended Diploma in Business. The course also provides a wide range of skills, and knowledge allowing those that have completed to go out into employment, or gain an apprenticeship.
