English Language and Literature is a subject which is very well regarded by Higher Education institutions and, because it is the study of the language used across the United Kingdom and beyond, it complements any educational course that a student might follow and provides a new perspective on most professions.

NON – EXAM ASSESSMENT (3,000 word investigation exploring a specific theme or issue in six literary and non-literary texts)

Entry requirements

Access to the Sixth Form is based on prior academic achievement, behaviour and attendance records. Students must attain at least 5 A* - C grades including English and Maths. Some subjects may have specific criteria.

Assessment

At AS, two exams worth 50% each. At A Level, two exams worth 40% each and one piece of coursework worth 20%.
