Employability BTEC level 2 Workskills at Frome Community College

Course description

The Employability qualification gives the students all the tools needed to be successful in their future career. Students will be looking at employability skills and their importance in recruitment.

All students will be working on their own CV: role-play interviews and applications. The course is supported by industry experts and local employers.

Work experience                

All learners will spend two days each week in a placement of their choice to gain experience and grow their employability skills and confidence.

Terms 5 and 6

Next Steps – all learners will work with the careers manager and trainers to investigate apprenticeships, training and employment opportunities.

Coursework assessments

Students will learn and develop practical key skills required for enterprise, employment and their lives in the future. These skills will be assessed through the completion of an assignment of tasks for each of five units:

•  preparing for a work placement

•  learning from a work placement

•  applying for a job

•  preparing for an interview

•  interview skills.
