Fabrication & Welding Level 3 Apprenticeship at Lakes College West Cumbria

Course description

The Level 3 Apprenticeship is ideal if you are working in Fabrication and Welding Engineering and have a great deal of technical skills and knowledge. You work with minimum supervision and have a good record of safety, fault correction and ensuring work meets the required standard. Apprentices will work with employers to put theory work learned in college into practice in the workplace. The course is broken down to include: A Technical Certificate (6 units to complete including Health and Safety, Engineering Principles, Welding and Fabrication Principles, Computer Aided Design, TIG Welding and Plate Fabrication). An NVQ lead by the employer, Employers rights and responsibilities Personal learner thinking skills, Level 2 functional skills in maths, English and IT (if required)

Entry requirements

Relevant Level 2 Qualification or have significant experience

Financial information

Apprenticeships are Government funded depending upon age and circumstance

Future opportunities

Upon completion of a Level 3 apprenticeship you could go on to study towards a HNC/D in Engineering or gain full time employment in the industry.
