Music A2 Level at Lord Grey School
If you are thinking of a career in Music, this course will provide you with the skills to bridge the gap between GCSE and Further Education. It will encourage you to have a deeper understanding and appreciation of all music genres in all contexts.
The course consists of six units over two years. The course is built around multiple areas of study from a selection of; Western Classical Tradition 1650–1910 (compulsory), Pop Music, Music for Media, Music for Theatre, Jazz, Contemporary Traditional Music and Art Music since 1910 through appraising music, performance and composition.
4 x A*-C grades and 1 x B grade is needed. You also need English or Mathematics as a minimum at C grade.
This includes exams in appraising, performance and composition of music.
