Carpentry and Joinery Diploma Level 2 at The College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London

Course description

You will gain the core technical knowledge and practical skills needed to be successful at Level 2 in the industry. It includes hand skills, safe use of power tools, scaffolding, door hanging (fitting), floor construction, roof construction, partitions, windows, casings and claddings. 

In addition to the theory you will learn, the course is taught using a mixture of practical training and assessment.  You will complete a portfolio of evidence to supplement your qualification.

Course content

you will be taught through practical exercises primarily in the Construction workshops and there is also an opportunity for group work and theory sessions in the classroom

Entry requirements

You will need GCSEs at grades D–G and a Level 1 carpentry and joinery qualification, to come to an interview, pass an assessment and have a good reference.


You will be assessed through practical tasks observations and an end of course on-line examination.

Future opportunities

You could progress to the Level 3 Diploma in Carpentry and Joinery or an apprenticeship if employed.
