Music A Level at Haslingden High School, Specialist Arts, Maths and Computing College

Course description

Music develops skills in performing, composing and appraising. The course explores musical understanding through theory and analysis and encourages musicians to sing and play together. Whilst the three elements are externally assessed, they are taught together.

Course content

- Component 1: Performing
- Component 2: Composing
- Component 3: Appraising

Entry requirements

- Grade V ABRSM instrumental practical exam
- Grade IV/V ABRSM theory

Assessment

This course is assessed entirely through examinations
