AS UNITS

In year 12 we study 2 key themes:

Development, resources and global citizenship

 What are our basic human needs?

 How can we manage them and protect the planet?

 How can we help other countries to manage their needs?

Poverty and inequality

 What is poverty?

 Who is in poverty and how does it change their lives?

 Can we break out of the poverty cycle?

A2 Units

In year 13 we study 2 more units:

Core unit:

Perspectives of development.

 How has the concept of development changed through time?

 How is development understood from economic, political, social and environmental perspectives?

 How can development be sustainable?

Then your choice of one more unit from:

Economic Development issues

Political Development issues

Social Development issues

Entry requirements

Students must have grades B and C in two Humanities subjects (English, History, Geography or RE).
