Health and Social Care Level 3 Cambridge Extended Diploma at Raynes Park High School

Course description

The Level 3 Cambridge Technicals in Health and Social Care qualifications is designed to provide highly specialist, work-related qualifications in a range of vocational sectors. They give learners the knowledge, understanding and skills that they need to prepare for employment in Health and Social Care and they attract UCAS points that equate to similar-sized general qualifications within education institutions within the UK for progression to Higher Education.

Course content

The qualification allows for greater flexibility with choices through a wide range of units such as learning about an individual’s rights and needs, cultural diversity, the impact of diet, and coping with changes in life stages. It is an ideal foundation for students entering the workplace, providing them with a theoretical background reinforced with practical skills that transfer into the modern workplace.

Entry requirements

GCSE grade C or level 2 pass in Maths and English and level 2 Health and Social Care

Assessment

An appropriate combination of 30 GLH and 60 GLH units.

Three externally examined units

Future opportunities

On successful completion of a Level 3 Cambridge Technicals in Health and Social Care qualification, a learner can progress to or within employment and/or continue their study in the same or related vocational area.
