Course content

This qualification is an important step towards career opportunities in:

The programme emphasises learning by doing. 

It offers a blend of practical workshop skills and classroom based activities to build up your overall knowledge of construction.

The course is:
• 75% practical
• 20% theory and portfolio building
• 5% functional skills and tutorials

Entry requirements

For this Level 1 programme you need:
• a strong interest in construction
• a commitment to improving your English and maths as part of the programme
• to be able to talk to us about past learning experiences and future ambitions in an interview 
• a good attitude, a willingness to learn and a pair of safety boots

      • From the M40, leave the motorway at Junction 11 and leave roundabout onto A422.
      • Continue down A422 and leave roundabout onto A361, Southam Road. Turn left on A361 (Southam Road) on to Horse Fair.
      • Leave the roundabout onto B4035, West Bar Street. Follow West Bar Street on to Broughton Road and the main entrance to the campus is on the right hand side.

      The Banbury Campus is approximately 15-20 minutes walk from the train and bus station.
