Course description

This course is a continuation of the Level 2 course. On the Advanced Apprenticeship, you'll learn about more complex faults and how to identify and repair them using sophisticated diagnostic equipment.

Course content

This course is offered in both light vehicle and HGV. You will learn about more complex faults and how to identify and repair them using sophisticated diagnostic equipment. Ideal if you are employed in the motor industry and want to achieve a higher level qualification.

Entry requirements

You should have a relevant Level 2 qualification and be employed in the industry.


Your progress will be assessed via a number of observed practical tasks in the students workplace, witness testimony and verbal questioning of essential knowledge. In addition, underpinning knowledge will be assessed via a number of City & Guilds GOLA multiple choice online assessments.

Future opportunities

After completing the course you will be able to progress to a range of further education and professional body awards.
