History - A Level at Cordeaux Academy

Course description

History offers you the opportunity to develop a coherent knowledge of the past whilst developing the techniques of critical thinking, interpretation, analysis and communication. The course covers aspects of British and European history covering fascinating times in our past.

Units may include:

  • Anglo-Saxon to Norman England
  • England under Elizabeth I
  • The Italian Unification
  • Napolean

  • Entry requirements

    5 GCSEs at Grades A*-C to include History and English. A grade C in GCSE Humanities may be acceptable.

    Future opportunities

    A-level History offers obvious progression to degree level courses in areas such as History and Archaeology. It is a popular and well respected qualification for many career choices, especially law, journalism, politics and the civil service, as it teaches critical thinking skills and the evaluation of evidence.
