Dental Nurse Level 2 Apprenticeship at Alder Training

Course description

This is an ideal qualification for those who have little or no experience in Dental Nursing and is a great progression pathway to the Dental Nursing Advanced Apprenticeship.

To achieve the Level 2 Certificate in Healthcare Support Services, learners must achieve 14 credits from the mandatory units and a minimum of 12 credits from the optional units available.

The units include Communication, Personal Development, Equality and Inclusion, Contributing to Health and Safety, Principals of Infection Prevention and Control, Causes and spread of infection, Safeguarding, Maintaining Quality Standards and Effective Team Work.

Learners will be observed in the workplace to show competency as well as completing written work to show knowledge and understanding to help prepare them for the level 3 qualification.

The apprenticeship also includes PLTS Level 2 which is a 5 unit qualification comprising of Employment Law, Problem Solving, Team Work and Contribution, Preparing for an Apprenticeship and Manage your own Learning for which learners will complete research, tasks and written work to show knowledge and understanding.


It may also include:

  • Functional Skills Level 1 in Maths. Learners will need to complete an online exam for this.
  • English functional skills level 1 for which learners will sit online reading and writing tests and also take part in planned discussions for the speaking and listening sections.
