Animal Care City & Guilds Diploma Entry Level 3 Skills For Working Life Entry Level at Doncaster College
This course is for people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities or for those who require more support in learning.
If you need a little extra help with learning; like to be active and on the go; want to try something new and exciting - this could be the opportunity that you are looking for.
The following mandatory units must be completed to achieve the qualification:
- Preparing to Work
- Personal and Social Development
- General Animal Husbandry.
Alongside learning practical animal care skills you will also attend tutorials develop social and interpersonal skills and widen life experiences. You will also spend time each week practicing functional skills in English and Maths.
- There are no formal entry qualification requirements but you need to be capable of working to at least Entry Level 1
- All applicants must complete an initial assessment in Maths and English and attend an interview.
This is a portfolio based assessment qualification. Assessments will be made on practical ability also knowledge and understanding of set criteria.
There are no course fees if you are under 19 years old on 31 August 2011. however, you will have to pay for textbooks, personal kits, uniforms, trips and personal stationary. You will be informed of these at your interview.
You will be required to purchase a uniform from the college.
On completion you may be able to progress to the Level 1 Diploma in Land-based Studies – Animal Care, or Horse Care.
