Construction & the Built Environment BTEC Level 3 Diploma at Alsop High School
This course is aimed at students who have ambitions to work in the professional sector of the construction industry.
Careers such as project management, building surveying, architecture and civil engineering.
This course gives an insight into key aspects of design, management and construction, and is the first step to a career in the professional sector. You would select this course if you have an interest in how buildings and structures are designed, different materials we can build with, how projects are managed and what the future of construction looks like.
You will study 6 units, taught through a mixture of theory and practical sessions.
Units of study include:
- Sustainable Construction
- Project Management
- Building Technology
- Civil Engineering
- Science and Maths in Construction
- Health, Safety and Welfare
All units of work are coursework units. There are no external examination units.
This course is equivalent to one A Level. Successful completion of this course could lead to a university degree course where you could study for a career in architecture, project management, surveying or civil engineering or lead to an apprenticeship and continued education and training, whilst working and earning a wage.
