Drama & Theatre Studies at Lincoln Christ's Hospital School

Course description

Theatre Studies is an academic course covering a broad range of practical and theoretical aspects of theatre including historical context, critical appreciation, artistic influences, genres and styles of performance. It is NOT a training course for actors, but gives a thorough grounding in theatrical knowledge for those considering future careers in the arts or university study.

Much of the teaching involves practical work. Set texts and practitioners are approached from an actor’s or director’s point of view. However, assessment is largely essay based.
