Food Technology at The Warriner School

Course description

This course is designed to encourage candidates to take a broad view of Design and Technology, Food Science and Nutrition, to develop their capacity to Design and Make products to meet the needs of different people in society and to appreciate the complex relations between design, materials, manufacture and marketing.

The specification provides candidates with the opportunity to Design and Make a product (or, in the case of AS, a number of smaller products) in both years of the course. It is important that for candidates to have studied GCSE Design and Technology: Food Technologybefore commencing work.

Entry requirements

Students must achieve at least a grade B in GCSE Food Technology (Coursework and written paper)and a grade B in GCSE Science.
