Business and Enterprise BTEC Level 2 Diploma at Calderdale College

Course description

This is a one year BTEC programme, designed as a stepping stone towards entering initial employment in such positions as, customer service assistant, office based work, general business or even setting up your own business.

Course content

The course is designed to broaden your understanding and knowledge of business and to develop important personal, academic and business skills.  You will study a range of exciting and interactive units over three terms, which includes the following:

  • Enterprise in the Business World 
  • Finance for Business » Principles of Marketing 
  • Promoting a Brand » Sales & Personal Selling 
  • Building Successful Business Teams

Throughout the programme of study, students will also study Functional Skills, which helps prepare them for work and their future careers.

Entry requirements

An intermediate course suitable for those who have at least 4 GCSEs at grades D (including English) or a relevant/equivalent Level 1 qualification, I.e. BTEC Introductory Diploma to include Maths and English.

Assessment

Two of the units will be externally assessed which will involve an exam based approach. Assessment of other units of the programme is through completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands.

Financial information

In most cases students aged 18 and under who wish to enrol on a full time further education course will have their fees waived.  Students who are aged 19 and over and who wish to enrol on a full time course should contact our Student Services Team on 01422-399367 for more information.

Future opportunities

*BTEC Level 3 in Business Studies or Business Enterprise
*Apprenticeship in Customer Service or in Business Administration.
The course could lead to a wide range of career opportunities including: Customer Service, Business Administration or Business Management
