Environmental Studies at Lucton School
The AQA environmental studies course is studied at Lucton. At AS this specification will develop foundation scientific knowledge and skills associated with the environment and how it works. Students will study the biodiversity of life on Earth and physical resources which are essential for life. At A2 students further develop their skills and understanding, by examining energy resources, environmental pollution, as well as biological resources and sustainability. There is also a practical skills element to each unit, resulting in good theoretical understanding and practical application of environmental issues.
Ideally, students will have gained at least grade B in a related GCSE subject, such as biology, combined science or geography; however, each applicant is considered on his or her merits.
