Health and Social Care Cambridge Technical Introductory Diploma Level 3 at Brooke Weston Academy
A Cambridge Technical is a vocational qualification at Level 3 that is the equivalent of one A Level and provides a sound basis for those wishing to follow a career in health, social care or child care. The course develops skills and understanding that are directly relevant to these careers. This course is not considered to be a suitable route for those interested in gaining a nursing qualification.

- Unit 4: Developing through life stages
- Unit 9: Caring for Children and young people
- Unit 10: Safeguarding Adults & Promoting Independence
- Unit 14: Working in the Health Sector
Open to students who have gained at least a grade C in both GCSE English language and a science.
Students who achieve this qualification will be prepared to enter a variety of HND or degree level courses in health, social care and early years care-related subjects. For example, a student achieving a Cambridge Technical Level 3 Introductory Diploma in Health and Social Care, supported by a suitable A Level subject, and wishing to progress to further qualifications in the health sector may undertake a qualification in one of the following areas: professions allied to medicine; complementary healthcare; sports health; or dietetics. Similarly, a student wishing to progress to further qualifications in the social care sector may undertake a degree in social work at age 21+, NVQs to become home care organisers, teaching assistants, or working with people with disabilities.
