The course is examined at the end of Year 12 and as a whole at end of Year 13.

Entry requirements

The minimum academic requirements to join the Sixth Form are:

1.     A minimum of three GCSE grades A* to C plus at least a grade 4 in GCSE English Language and Mathematics.
AND
2.     The grade criteria for individual subjects as outlined on the last page in this booklet.

Note:
Following the publication of GCSE results in August 2017 students may appeal to governors in the event of academic
requirements not being met.

Exam Papers Y12

Paper 1: Listening, Reading and Writing
45%
What’s assessed? Aspects of Hispanic society, Artistic culture in the Hispanic world, Grammar. Written exam: 1 hour 45 minutes

Paper 2: Writing
25%
What’s assessed? One text or one film. Written exam: 1 hour 30 minutes.

Paper 3: Speaking Exam
30%
What’s assessed? One sub-theme from Aspects of Hispanic society and one sub-theme from Artistic culture in the Hispanic world. Oral exam 12 – 14 minutes.

Exam Papers Y13

Paper 1: Listening, Reading and Writing
50%
What’s assessed? Aspects of Hispanic society, Artistic culture in the Hispanic world, Multiculturalism in Hispanic Society Aspects of political life in Hispanic society. Written exam: 2 hours 30 minutes.

Paper 2: Writing
20%
What’s assessed? One text and one film Written exam: 2 hours

Paper 3: Speaking
30%
What’s assessed? Individual research project. One of four sub-themes.
Oral exam 21 – 23 minutes.
