Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair IMI Level 2 Diploma at West Cheshire College

Course description

With West Cheshire College you’ll learn in real work environments to ensure you’re fully prepared to enter the motor industry. You’ll develop your skills and knowledge of the following: vehicle maintenance and repair, removing and replacing vehicle components, servicing, chassis, electrical systems, engines, transmission and pre and post vehicle inspections. The course will give you what you need to go straight in to work or move on to a Level 3 course or the Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Apprenticeship. In order to be successful on this course you will need to acquire Level 1 Automotive Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair skills first. If you do not have Level 1 skills you’ll be fast-tracked to ensure you gain them.

Course content

Course content includes: vehicle maintenance and repair, removing and replacing vehicle components, electrical systems, engines, transmission and vehicle inspections.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grade D or above including English and Maths or successful completion of a Level 1 programme including English and maths at Level 1. Prior experience in the industry will also be considered.

Assessment

You will be continually assessed throughout the programme.
