Business Administration Apprenticeship Level 3 at Cornwall College

Course description

This course is designed to reflect the current and future needs of employers.  This qualification will benefit people already employed in an administrative role with a high degree of autonomy.

This qualification provides you with the opportunity to develop your understanding of, and skills, in a broad range of administrative activities such as information management, event co-ordination and implementing procedures and systems.

Key Features

This qualification in Business Administration is available for people who want to work in administrative support roles in public or private sector organisations, or people who want to improve their administrative and supervisory skills. A qualification in Business and Administration can help you succeed in a support role in any size or type of organisation. These roles include:

  • Secretary
  • Personal assistant
  • Office supervisor/team leader
  • Manager

Course content

This course consists of six mandatory units and a range of optional units, to give a minimum of 58 credits in total.  Delivery will consist of class-based and work based learning.  The mandatory units are:

  • Communicate in a business environment
  • Principles of business communication and information
  • Principles of administration
  • Principles of business
  • Manage personal and professional development
  • Understand employer organisations

 You then select the optional units to suit your specific job role, which may include:

  • Contributing to the improvement of business performance
  • Document production
  • Co-ordinating an event / meetings
  • Evaluating and maintain customer service
  • Managing information and data

Entry requirements

To enrol in this apprenticeship, you need to be aged 16 and over and be employed in a senior administrative role.

Future opportunities

Upon successful completion, you can progress onto any of the Business Skills courses offered at Cornwall College at the same or a higher level.
