Vehicle Accident Repair (Paint) (Level 2) Apprenticeship at Central College Nottingham

Course description

The programme covers the technical and practical needs for today’s Motor Vehicle Body Refinishing industry. It provides the technical knowledge for people working on light vehicles (cars and vans) in all types of vehicle refinishing facilities.

Course content

  • Preparing Panels to Accept Foundation and Topcoats
  • Preparing and Applying Foundation Materials to Vehicles
  • Repairing Minor Paint Defects
  • Health and Safety
  • Materials and Tools
  • English and Maths

Entry requirements

You will need to be employed in a Vehicle Body Repair shop carrying out appropriate tasks. In addition applicants must have achieved 4 GCSEs at grades A*-D or Level 1 Vehicle Paint qualification or other equivalent qualification.

Assessment

For each module you will have to complete course work, written assignments, practical assessments, online tests and work based observations. You will have the advantage of an online e-learning package to help you achieve your target.

Future opportunities

Subject to meeting the subject criteria be able to move onto an Advanced Apprenticeship to further improve your knowledge and skills.

Further information

To be an Apprentice Paint Technician you must be employed in a Vehicle Body Repair shop working a minimum of 30 hours per week.
