Business Studies AS/A2 Level at Aylesbury High School

Course description

Business Studies introduces students to aspects of decision making, enterprise, presentation, working in teams, change and change management, problem solving, and leadership attributes. It offers certain life skills and vocational elements. It teaches students about institutions and structures in which students will work or interact with in the future - companies, local and national government, banks.

The course starts with the practical issues of starting a business. You will often be put in the position of a manager and asked to use your knowledge and skills to suggest solutions to problems, or how best to take advantage of opportunities. There are lots of discussions in lessons, and plenty of opportunities for working in small groups and presenting your ideas to the rest of the class.
